Experimental music, modular synths, live coding, visuals and DJs, all made with technology that's being used in ways it wasn't quite designed for.
Two rooms, and you're free to drift between them.

About the Performers
Epiploke
Lucy and Alex collaborate as the live coding duo ‘Epiploke’, their music draws inspiration from mind-expanding patterns and rhythms from Ancient Greek and South Indian Carnatic traditions. Alex co-founded the algorave movement, and instigated the free/open source TidalCycles and Strudel live coding environments. Lucy and Alex now regularly organise Algoraves, workshops and festivals back home in Sheffield UK as part of ‘Sheffield Pattern Club’.
Joseph Hyde
Joseph Hyde presents Transit, a brand-new audiovisual performance in which every sound and image is generated in real time. The visuals come from AViator, Jo's custom system for building and reshaping WebGL shaders, which he plays live from Ableton Live so that sound and image move as one. Jo is Emeritus Professor of Music (Creative Music Technology) at Bath Spa University, and Transit is the latest work in his long-standing exploration of visual music.
PVSH
PVSH is the live duo of Simon Hunt and Pablo Villierezz, both Senior Lecturers in Creative Music Technology at Bath Spa University. Together they build slowly evolving drone performances, with analogue modular synthesis generating both the sound and the visuals in real time. As established performers, researchers and sound professionals, they rarely share a stage under this name, so this is a chance to experience their work up close in an intimate setting.
Nocturne Oasis x Title
Nocturne Oasis x Title brings together Norwegian interdisciplinary artist Hannah Moseng Staff (Nocturne Oasis), a Technical Demonstrator at Bath Spa University, and creative technologist and sound artist Felix Colbert (Title). Nocturne Oasis will live code a dungeon crawler she has built in Unreal Engine, shaping its world as the audience watches, while Title improvises digital dungeon music on hardware, reacting to each twist and turn. It's a one-off quest where game and score are made in the moment, and no two runs will be the same.
Muzak Concrète
Muzak Concrète is the Bristol duo of DJs and producers Ben Smallwood and Pete Bennett, known for their monthly show on Noods Radio. Their sets build deep, immersive soundscapes from ambient drones, field recordings, cosmic synthesisers and astral jazz. Each one is shaped around its own theme, drifting between genres to create thoughtful, unhurried music for everyday listening. Expect a slow, absorbing journey that invites you to settle in and let the sound unfold.
darta
darta is the visual alias of Nigel Fryatt, founder of POLYMATHIC and Creative Producer for the Centre for Creative Technology. Under this name he creates generative art and live event visuals, and he's also an occasional live coder. He's widely credited with reigniting the live visuals scene in Bath, but for this event he's showcasing "Modular Visuals", his new patchable video synthesiser for Mac, which brings the hands-on feel of analogue video synths into the digital world. Much like patching hardware, he cables together oscillators, keys, VCAs, feedback, shape and freeze modules to build evolving imagery live. A UK outdoor festival regular.
Bath Live Visuals Community
Bath Live Visuals is a Bath-based community for the city's audiovisual and tech scene, run by POLYMATHIC founder Nigel Fryatt, creative technologist Felix Colbert and stage and lighting designer Kyle Roberts. Through regular free meet-ups at Newark Works, they bring together DJs, VJs, producers, creative coders, musicians and tinkerers, connecting the people who stage events and performances across Bath and Bristol with anyone curious about joining that world. BLVC members will be jamming along with Muzak Concrète providing the visuals component.
